ADT New Zealand is a subsidiary of Tyco Fire and Security and is part of the world’s largest electronic security business. The company’s range of products and services include guards and patrols, alarm systems and integrated security applications which link access control, CCTV, electronic article surveillance and source-tagging systems. In New Zealand, the company provides security for some of the nation’s largest properties and retail outlets, as well as government buildings and healthcare facilities. ADT also supplies contracted security services to local government bodies.

The Department of Labour’s primary role is to improve the performance of the labour market and, through this, strengthen the economy and increase the standard of living for those in New Zealand. The Electoral Enrolment Centre maintains electoral rolls and conducts the Maori Electoral Option. The centre is a self-contained business unit of New Zealand Post Ltd, under contract to the Minister of Justice. The centre has a team of Registrars of Electors – one for each electorate. The Registrars are responsible for compiling and maintaining the electoral rolls for their electorate. As well as maintaining the electoral rolls on a daily basis and conducting enrolment update campaigns prior to all major electoral events, the Registrars also work in their local communities to encourage eligible electors to enrol.

The Ministry works closely with other agencies in the justice sector such as New Zealand Police, the Department of Corrections and the Ministry of Social Development, to advance the sector’s common goal of a safe and just society for New Zealand. The Ministry’s approximately 2900 staff work in 103 different locations around New Zealand, delivering a wide variety of services from court services and fines collection to policy advice, negotiation of Treaty of Waitangi claims and running the parliamentary elections.
